June 12 Commemoration day Lagos Public Holiday 2011 Monday June 13 likely to be declared.

Take note that this is a state holiday and not federal hence only workers in Lagos State are affected. The day is commemorative of the IBB-annulled June 12, 1993 elections won by the late MKO Abiola who died in detention as a result. His wife, Kudirat Abiola was also killed in her struggle for the release of the business mogul. June 12 symbolizes the people's struggle for Democracy.
