As is the tradition to declare the next working day a public holiday if the original holiday falls on a weekend, workers can hope that Monday, 30th of May 2011 will be a public holiday across Nigeria. As of today, the government has not declared a public holiday in lieu. May 29th of every year is Democracy day in Nigeria and this year 2011 has Sunday written all over it.

Expect bars and nite clubs to open all Sunday night should the holiday be declared.
