Caption CSR Conference: Bringing the Social Dimension into Business
Description This conference aims at increasing the awareness of corporate social responsibility in Nigeria, to get more companies to incorporate corporate social responsibility in their business models and to get companies who are already doing so to do better.

In today’s complex competitive business environment the management of social issues poses a key challenge for many companies. Identifying and addressing these issues early on and managing them actively can increase the likelihood of success for companies. Most Nigerian companies have not integrated society into their business strategy in a way that reinforces competitive advantage for the business.

There is an inevitable link between business and society: a healthy business depends on a healthy community to create demand for its products and provide a supportive business environment.  Every organisation operates in a competitive context that is inevitably affected by social and community conditions.  Companies should integrate a social dimension to their value proposition because it is more sustainable than conventional cost and quality advantages.

Work-life balance is an essential part of corporate social responsibility. Corporations are increasingly recognising that an inadequate work-life balance can have detrimental impact on staff performance, satisfaction and retention. When employers target good work-life balance, they can see that reducing stress and frustration resulting from poor work-life balance can be beneficial to both parties.

The conference offers top management the opportunity to strengthen their ability to integrate social issues into the way they do business.
